Today’s Obsession & The Daily Crush

Posted in Fashion, Random, Shoe Gallery by fabulousfashions on July 22, 2009

As a woman and consumer who is absolutely crazy about shoes I am always on a mission to find the perfect pair.   I love shoe shopping, but occasionally become overwhelmed with all the choices that are available to me in the shoe stores.   I have become the biggest fan of online shoe shopping mainly due to the ease and convenience of the whole process.   I can casually browse shoes at my leisure while not having to feel pressured to buy them. There is no salesperson bombarding me and if I decide that after hours of debate I’d rather pass on the purchase I don’t have to feel guilty about wasting some poor salesperson’s time.

Now, mind you there are times when buying shoes online are just not an option like when a last minute event pops up and I have an immediate need, but for the most part those instances are very rare. Ordering shoes online for me and having them arrive is like receiving an unexpected Christmas gift in which you cant wait to tear open and peek inside. There are a host of wonderful online shoe retailers who strive to provide the best service, satisfaction, and quality products to consumers and many of them offer things like free or discounted shipping and wonderful deals you wouldn’t find elsewhere.

What’s the daily obsession?

These sexy shoes from Stuart Weitzman are today’s obsession…

What a difference a few Minerals can make

Posted in Beauty, Beauty Buzz by fabulousfashions on July 15, 2009

I have to admit that I am one of the many people who have been swept up into the mineral makeup craze, but can you blame me?  I have sensitive skin and any product that I can find that’s completely natural and free of harsh chemicals immediately gets my full undivided attention.  Alcohol naturally dries out my skin and my makeup generally becomes cakey and heavy due to the chemicals in it after extended hours of wear which leads to clogged pores.  Clogged pores are the last thing I need because they inevitably lead to the dreaded pimple.  Mineral makeup is lightweight and more natural looking due to it lacking those chemicals and is even said to be so pure that you can sleep in it without worries, though I’m not brave enough to try that.

When I was on my quest to find the mineral makeup that was right for me I came across Mineral Hygienics.  Mineral Hygienics is perfect for you to try if you are unsure about investing money into a new makeup because it offers two wonderful starter kits that are very inexpensive compared to other makeups and performs on the same level of those higher priced brands if not better.  They even offer a 60 money back guarantee which I thought was fabulous, because it gives you more than enough time to determine after use if the products are right for you or not.  Here is a glimpse of what is included in the starter kits so that you can see for yourself and compare to what other lines are offering and determine the value.

My Pictures1

The Mineral Hygienics starter kit has everything you need for flawless coverage to achieve a healthy glow.  Save over $100 with the starter kit!

Mineral hygienics even goes so far as to provide you their ingredients and the ingredients of other popular mineral makeups so that you can make an informed decision before making your purchase and ultimately your choice.  To me this was wonderful because I like most consumers always want to make an informed decision before committing.  If you’re a makeup junkie, someone who has problematic type skin like me, or just curious about the benefits of wearing mineral makeup I would definitely suggest giving mineral hygienics a try.

Jean Paul Gaultier 2009/2010 Haute Couture

Posted in Fashion, Noteworthy Style by fabulousfashions on July 10, 2009

I usually find it really hard to appreciate the beauty of most couture collections and I’m not exactly sure why, but that was definitely not the case with Jean Paul Gaultier’s 2009/2010 couture collection.

Have a look at a few of my favorite pieces from the collection.

I found myself loathing after the pieces that were placed before me for my eyes to feast on like a king’s dinner.

Etsy Fab: Etsy fashion find of the week!

Posted in Accessories to Love, Fashion by fabulousfashions on July 4, 2009

botanicalbird-1 This beautiful necklace is my Etsy Fab “fashion find of the week”. It is showcased by the Etsy designer BotanicalBird.  I amongst hundreds of other online perusers find myself becoming more and more obsessed with Etsy with each passing day, mainly due to the fact that there are literally thousands of one-of-a-kind items listed there that are like fashion gold for the true fashion junkie.  This featured necklace is definitely one of those pieces of gold.  I love the flower, the bold red, and the vintage look of the metal.  It has that perfect “old” meets “new” look going on… yet it’s still eye-catching, trendy, and oh so unique!  I think the reason I chose this particular item as my Etsy Fab “fashion find of the week” was due to just prior to me visiting Etsy, I had viewed some awesome vintage clothing that was pictured at Brown Suga Fashion & Beauty Blog and saw this sexy, yummy, vintage dress.  I guess that just put me in a vintage chic frame of mind and that’s how I’d perfectly describe this necklace!

Salvatore Ferragamo: Spring 2009 RTW Favorites

Posted in Fashion by fabulousfashions on July 1, 2009

The House of Salvatore Ferragamo had me drooling at the mouth with this Ready to Wear line for their Spring 2009 collection.  I have compiled photographs of my favorites and sadly it’s almost the whole entire line… lol.  There is practically no limit to what I wouldn’t do to have every single piece of this fabulous line in my closet at this very moment… seriously, smh:)

The King of Pop: Forever in our Hearts

Posted in Random by fabulousfashions on June 27, 2009

I just didn’t feel right not doing a post dedicated to the late, great, King of Pop – Mr Michael Jackson. I was so saddened when I heard the news and remember thinking to myself this has to be wrong, it has to a rumor, only to find out that the story was indeed true. So many of us Michael Jackson fans feel as though we have lost apart of our childhood and even more so a musical legend whose music we grew up on.

I remember blasting my Michael Jackson tape in my little boombox as I danced around doing the moonwalk in a version of that famous red leather jacket and glove and being terrified of the Thriller video, but forcing myself to watch anyway because it was Michael. We all have similar stories of how Michael’s music made us laugh, dance, and sometimes cry. I would just like to say that in the wake of his death, let us all continue to remember what made us love Michael in the first place and not focus on the negative points in his life. Let’s remember…. the MUSIC!  Here’s a wonderful video I saw @ The Bloggings on the Wall.  This video is a wonderful tribute to Michael that reminds us of why we loved him & his music!

Jimmy Choo for H&M
Jimmy Choo for H&M

Sexy, provocative, and down right feminine… what’s not to love about Jimmy Choo heels?!  Now, thanks to a beautiful union, Jimmy Choo’s prized pumps will be available and affordable to all who crave his footwear for their little toesies along with his wonderful handbags to boot!  The Sweden based H&M has teamed up with designer Jimmy Choo to debut a collection of handbags and women’s and men’s shoes around Nov. 14 along with a couple of garments to compliment the accessories.  I personally am very excited about this and cannot wait for the collection to be unveiled.  Here’s what H&M had to say about teaming up with Choo…

“We adore Jimmy Choo’s shoes and bags. They are glamorous and sexy, and they add instant style to the simplest of outfits. I like the way we have worked with clothes to accessorize the shoes and bags rather than the other way around. This collaboration is particularly exciting because it’s our first shoe designer collection,” said Margareta van den Bosch, H&M’s creative adviser.

I couldn’t agree with you more H&M.  Not only is this news exciting, but it has alot of women gearing up to start Christmas shopping a little early.  To let all of my wonderful readers know, I wear a size 9 and am not picky when it comes to Jimmy Choo since all his shoes are fabulous (just in case I make your Christmas list)… lol.

Sacred Locks – Haircare that’s saving our world!

That’s right, saving the world and yes I mean that literally!

Celebrity colourist Louise Galvin
Celebrity Colourist Louise Galvin

Renowned celebrity hair colourist Louise Galvin has recently launched Sacred Locks, an extraordinary beauty line that consists of both hair care and body care products that are quickly becoming the topic of the latest beauty buzz.  Louise’s launch of her haircare line has totally revolutionized body and hair care products as we know them, by not only introducing a line where all the ingredients are natural, but free of sulphates, parabens, silicone, petrochemicals, synthetic fragrances, and polymers.  Galvin, who is the daughter of UK based Daniel Galvin, is a committed supporter of the Carbon Neutral Beauty Company- whose focus is to offset and reduce the build-up of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, a direct contributor to global warming.  Her company is the first in the beauty industry to take the initiative to offset emissions.  Not only is this remarkable, but a bold move that everyone in the industry should take note of and model.  I have to mention that one of the many things I like about Sacred Locks is that it  leaves your hair smelling so luscious after use.  I like to describe the scent as a lightly scented fragrance with warm sensual undertones or sexy and even provocative in plain-speak.  You’ll slyly find yourself trying to catch a whiff of your hair all while noticing how much more body your hair has and how healthy and nourished it feels.  Let me introduce you to the products in the line.

Fabulous Tops at Fabulous Prices

Can you ever have enough tops in your closet?  I personally don’t think so, but I could be wrong.  I’m the type of girl that will buy a million tops only to realize I don’t have that perfect pair of jeans or that special skirt to go with most of them.  It’s just so much easier to find a cute top than that perfect fitting pair of pants, so generally that’s what I end up buying the most of on my shopping trips.  Are you the same way?  Well as I was browsing ASOS today, I came across these wonderful tops I wouldn’t mind splurging on especially since most of them are from their clearance section and only cost around $20.00-$25.00 bucks.  A good sale just has a way of making me feel less guilty about buying and leaves me feeling like a smart and savvy shopper.  The tops above are going to be perfect for my upcoming trip and I’m loving the colors – vivid and bright, which is right in line with the 2009 color trends for the season.  Now only if finding those jeans was this easy!
